A 7-Year Odyssey Through Cancer, War, and Justice
As side effects of the chemoradiotherapy faded, COVID lockdowns and restrictions blocked screenings and travel for two years. Then, Ukraine's war shattered my family—my daughter lives in Russia, born from my marriage to a Donbass woman where I once worked.
In 2023, when I started to come out of a deep depression and getting used to live without voice, an old, forgotten Twitter comment prompted the International Criminal Court judge who issued the arrest warrant for President Putin to file a complaint with the Rome Prosecutor's Office. What followed was 2 years of legal hell: home raid and seizure of my Twitter (now X) account, criminal investigation and eventual trial. Only weeks ago, the Court dismissed the case entirely—despite prosecutors seeking my conviction. Criminal proceedings are closed, but financial burdens remain.
7.5 years later, savings gone, my tiny disability pension barely covers basics. At 63, restarting in Italy is impossible—I've lived/worked abroad my whole life.
I need YOUR help to escape this nightmare:
• Reactivate my Afghanistan sole proprietorship & rehire 2 loyal ex-employees (my only path forward—despite health limits).
• Visit my daughter in Russia.
• Cover remaining legal costs.
My voicelessness killed my polyglot career; I must work with those who knew me "pre-cancer."
Goal: €22,000 (Trip, reactivation, rehiring, Russia visit, legal fees). I'll update donors transparently on every euro spent.
