Ukraine is now ready to deepen relations with Afghanistan

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Uruskyy held an official meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Wali Monawar. During the event, the current state of relations between the countries and prospects for their development in the future were discussed. The parties also stressed the need to deepen bilateral cooperation and increase trade between the states. According to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Wali Monawar, today both the leadership of Afghanistan and Ukraine have a mutual interest in the development of economic relations in various areas. "Afghanistan would like to open a new page in cooperation between the countries. Currently, important areas of bilateral cooperation are education, energy and military-technical cooperation," said Mr. Wali Monawar. The Ambassador also stressed that the official trade turnover between the countries should be increased and assured that this is an important task of his mission in Ukraine. In turn, Oleh Uruskyy stressed: "Ukraine is now ready to deepen relations with Afghanistan. There is political will and significant potential for cooperation. Of course, the current official level of trade between the countries is insufficient. We must set ourselves more ambitious goals and achieve even higher performance of cooperation."
