The revenue of the Transport Department of Afghanistan northern Kunduz province has surged by 40%

Transport Director told media representatives that 13 million Afghanis were collected in revenue in the first six months of the current year.

The department’s income stood at eight million Afghanis during the same period in the previous year. “Our revenue has surged by 40 percent this year.” He linked the revenue increase to anti-corruption efforts and the appointment of professional individuals.

But provincial council members said efforts to eradicate corruption had not been enough. They called for a stepped-up drive to eliminate graft. The governor’s spokesman, said an effective campaign against corruption had been ongoing. Reform in the department had resulted in increased revenue, the spokesman argued.
