The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, on Sunday 26th of February 2017, signed a contract of electricity development project with the Indian company KEC, worth USD 113,000,000.

The contract was signed at the Presidential Palace in Kabul between Chief Executive of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), Mohammad Jalil Shams and Pankaj Kumar Tandon, the Head of KEC. The project is to extend (about 350 km) the transmission lines of 220KW power from central Ghazni province to southern province of Kandahar.
