Afghanistan sees a considerable increase in the production of honey

Nearly 2 million kilograms of honey has been produced throughout Afghanistan this year. Currently, about 24,000 beekeepers (of which over 600 are women) are currently engaged in honey production within 60 cooperatives across the country.
And, a large number of beekeepers are individually involved in honey production in various provinces. Honey is produced in 30 provinces of Afghanistan. The provinces with the highest production of honey are Badakhshan, Herat, Takhar, Kunduz, Baghlan and Ghazni. The French Development Agency (AFD) is the major international partner and donor supporting honey production in Afghanistan.
