The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Ashraf Ghani, promises PEACE, development and Afghan national security forces victory in the ongoing war during the Afghan new year. In his message on the occasion of Nowruz (Nowruz is the name of the Persian New Year, which is celebrated worldwide by Persian people, along with some other ethno-linguistic groups, as the beginning of the Persian New Year), Ghani said the Afghan forces will be victorious in the ongoing war and promised that peace will be achieved. He said said that Afghan forces, with the support of the people, do not allow the enemies of Afghanistan to divide the country and destroy the system. President Ghani further added that the country will witness major developments and presented the electricity production in the country as an example, saying the electricity production in 1395 would be unprecedented as compared to the previous one hundred years. He admitted the shortcomings of the government in certain sectors and pointed towards corruption, saying certain departments in the government are operating the way they should be doing. President said that strict measures will be taken in fighting the growing corruption during the new year.
