Trade volume between Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan stands around USD 440,000,000 annually

The total trade volume between Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan stands at 437 million dollars annually, Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) said Saturday, 8 April. The statement was made during a business forum including representatives of Afghanistan and Kazakhstan in Kabul. Afghanistan’s imports from the Central Asian nation amounted to USD 426 million while the volume of exports stood at USD 11 million. Items of exports include marble, potatoes, cucumbers, fruits and carpets, while imports include mainly flour, medicines, fuels, chemical fertilizers and reinforcing steel bars for construction. The deputy head of ACCI said that the Republic of Kazakhstan could act as a transit point for trade between Afghanistan, China and Russia.
