Afghan female entrepreneurs between tradition and future

A delegation led by the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), Mr. Rosario Centola, visited the "Village Bazaar Exhibition". The three-day event has been organized, in the historical context of the Bagh-e-Babur gardens in Kabul, by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) through the Afghanistan Rural Enterprise Development Program (AREDP). The event exhibits, and promotes, female entrepreneurship in Afghanistan, with the aim of promoting their products, to create and strengthen business linkages between urban and rural entrepreneurs, at the national and international levels, and of increasing entrepreneurial skills for women empowerment. Female entrepreneurs of all ages, from Herat, Bamiyan, Parwan, Kandahar, Balk, Nangarhar, in a harmony of different cultures, colors, fragrances, flavors and textiles, exhibited the best of the craft and artistic production of Afghanistan, proudly telling their stories.
