Iran plans to award US$1,2 billion electric railway train project to Russia. Abbas Akhundi, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, said that the new service will connect Garmsar in Eastern Tehran to the border town of Incheh Borun in the Northeastern Golestan province. The proposal was discussed during a meeting with the Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, who arrived in Tehran along with a 50-member delegation.
